Movie Review - Paranormal Activity : The Marked Ones

I tried making a blurry face but I didn't move fast enough.
The Paranormal Activity isn't over!  And the Marked Ones doesn't continue it as it just delves into a side story.  Fans to the franchise shouldn't miss it as it has elements that are of note.

Jesse just graduated and strange incidents with his neighbors has marked him as a supernatural target.  His friends and family try their best to stave off the paranormal from encroaching on their lives.

The Marked Ones is more of the same type of cinematography seen in all other Paranormal Activity movies.  There's nothing new done with the basic storytelling, just using a portable Go Pro camera instead of stationary camera for household shots.  The ghostly special effects isn't so much but the scares and suspense are still there.  This side story is following the formula so while there are surprises, they aren't complete surprises.  Well, except for the ending bit.

Watch the Marked Ones if you're a fan.  Even casual horror buffs will get enjoyment from it, though they may be confused with conclusion.  The Paranormal Activity still isn't over and if side stories such as these are still successful, it won't be over for a long, long time.

SPOILERS!!!  Don't watch unless you've seen the movie unless you want to risk being a marked one.

The use of the Yes or No game gadget came out of nowhere and was a clunky plot device to use but it is undoubtedly very creepy!

Poor doggie!  I'm not sure if he was killed or not.

The Marked One monster would have been better if we had seen the particular one previously.  But tying it with the teleportation and time frame was interesting, though the payoff only works for those who are familiar with the first movie.

Seriously, why was the naked part censored?  Was the footage censored by the mysterious editor afterwards?  It doesn't make sense, haha.

The one with who passed the information about the address might well reveal who is actually viewing the footage.  I do hope the gangster brother survived as his demise wasn't shown onscreen.
