Press Release - Spotlight

So there's the Spotlight movie coming up on February 10, 2016.  The buzzwords here would have to be 'priests' and 'child molestation'.  Yes, it's a very controversial topic, especially locally, though sadly sometimes it's taken in humorous context.  This film shines a, ahem, spotlight on this heinous crimes buuuuut focuses on the newspaper crew that exposes it.  I don't expect a human angle story on the children being taken advantage of by the Church but you never know?  It's the personal drama that Filipinos are into but this film has got a blockbuster cast (including the Hulk, Sabretooth, Batman and the scientist who created the Captain America super soldier serum) so give it a look see, hehe.

The official synopsis goes as:  SPOTLIGHT tells the riveting true story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe investigation that would rock the city and cause a crisis in one of the world’s oldest and most trusted institutions. When the newspaper’s tenacious “Spotlight” team of reporters delves into allegations of abuse in the Catholic Church, their year-long investigation uncovers a decades-long cover-up at the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal, and government establishment, touching off a wave of revelations around the world. Directed by Academy Award-nominee Tom McCarthy, SPOTLIGHT is a tense investigative dramatic-thriller, tracing the steps to one of the biggest cover-ups in modern times.

... but the 2 minute video would get the tense nature of the film across much more effectively.

  Check it out next month.
